Community
Founded in 2003, Real Estate Executive Council (REEC) is a 501(c)(6) not-for- profit professional trade association composed of Black and Latinx professionals working in the commercial real estate industry across the U.S. REEC membership has grown exponentially from 15 founding members to a growing community of over 200+ members.
REEC members come from varying areas within the CRE industry including: appraisal, architecture, asset management, brokerage, construction, corporate RE, debt & equity investment, development, design, engineering, entrepreneurship, facilities management, financing, infrastructure, land use, leasing, marketing, operations, placemaking, private equity, property management, public policy, technology, urban planning and zoning.
REEC’s primary asset is its members, therefore REEC membership is targeted to experienced professionals with a minimum of 10 years of experience in real estate, a requirement that can be waived for those that have achieved a position and level of experience to make and influence decisions that will support the activities of membership. As is the case with any industry organization, the effectiveness and value of a REEC membership is based on the active involvement of its membership. REEC’s membership is very active in committees and initiatives that the organization executes to pursue its mission. Although REEC membership is limited to senior leaders in the industry, REEC also wishes to support the wider range of real estate professionals and has chosen to do so through support of local and regional organizations and their events.
